It can be difficult to find the right balance between clean ingredients and efficacy, but these picks don’t sacrifice either. All products listed are gentle enough for sensitive skin, cruelty-free, and free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrance, and a whole gambit of nasty chemicals. (None of these offerings contain any chemicals that are ranked above a 3 on the EWG scale.)
Acure Organics Sensitive Facial Cleanser ($10)
I’ve been using this face wash for almost a year, and I just adore it. It lathers well, but it doesn’t dry out my skin. I wouldn’t rave about the scent, but it’s not so offensive that I’d stop using the product. It’s affordable, effective, and a little bit goes a long way, so it lasts for months on months. (Maybe three+, to be more specific.) This cleanser also happens to be vegan!
Graydon Aloe Milk Cleanser ($25)
This little gem is a creamy cleanser that is especially supportive of dry skin. It doesn’t lather a whole lot, but is very helpful with make-up removal. It has a light, refreshing scent, but not one that will overpower other skincare products or perfumes after you’ve washed it off. On average, it takes about a month, to a month and a half, before you’ll run out.
Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil ($32)
For anyone who has washed their face with Manuka honey, this cleanser feels similar. If that sounds crazy, the sticky texture of this cleaner might throw you at first, but the results are magical. It lathers minimally, and warms while you massage it into your pores. It cleans and nourishes the skin with naturally reparative essential fatty acids & antioxidants, and it’s vegan! This product should get you through a month, to month and a half, of face-washing.
