Fashion Sustainability

Amour Vert

Amour Vert is a gorgeous example of how sustainability and chic style can coexist. AV is a capsule wardrobe gold mine, and heaven for anyone who likes all striped everything. Amour Vert is a fashion brand that believes in transparent, non-toxic, eco-friendly practices, and all of their pieces are manufactured in America.

Amour Vert is French for “green love,” and they’re all about it. Their knit tops are made from beech tree fabric, are completely biodegradable, and made with CO2 neutral production. The best part of their mission might be that they plant a tree for every tee purchased. They’ve planted 135,804+ trees across North America with their partners, American Forest, and I contributed two more.

Since I’ve ditched most of my wardrobe, I was interested in replenishing the basics, and Amour Vert came through for me. I purchased two tees and a pair of pants with the proceeds of my closet purge. Everything I tried on was soft and flattering af, and ya’ll know I don’t use that term lightly, or ever. The pants are a subtle, versatile olive color, in a sleek cargo style. I don’t know what it is about the linen and tencel combo, but these babies are the most complimentary and comfortable pants of my life. (And trust, I never imagined myself as a cargo pants person, but now I live in them.)

Amour Vert is the place for high-quality, versatile basics. They have a stylish variety of tops for every body type; everything from organic cotton to linen materials, and crew neck to deep v styles. Price is always a factor, and I appreciate that their tees are mid-range ($42-$58), which is reasonably priced considering the top-notch quality. Their beautiful silk dresses are a bit of an investment ($88- $248), but I would recommend taking a look if you’re shopping for a special event.

Overall, I’d recommend Amour Vert for the value, and I’ll be shopping with them again. If you’re interested in checking them out, Amour Vert has a 15% code for first time shoppers when you join their email list.
